Why Not Go For Success?
History is full of examples of great people who decided what they wanted and made it happen.
Andrew Carnegie wrote on a small note and kept it in his desk over the years a simple message that shows how powerful writing down your intentions and goals really is.
Carnegie wrote, “I will spend the first half of my life making money, and the second half giving it all away.”
And that’s exactly what he did. Carnegie gave away over $350 million in his lifetime by the time he died in 1919. That was back when money was money. I mean, $350 million back then is equivalent to more than $10 billion today.
He was the one of the greatest philanthropists in the history of the world. Why? Because he wanted to be. That was his goal. That was his dream.
I’m not saying you should be a philanthropist. Personally, I want to give away hundreds of millions of dollars to worthy causes in my lifetime. But I’m not asking you to adopt MY goals and dreams – all I’m asking is that you find your own.
Be a good student, but don’t just be a follower. Learn everything you can but make your own decisions.
Don’t try to live someone else’s life – this is YOUR LIFE. Make it be what you want it to be. Screw what everyone else thinks. They can plan their own lives – but not yours. Your life is for you to live and you alone. And at the end of the day what you do with it is entirely up to you.
